Trent Spaulding, Ph.D.

Dr. Trent J. Spaulding is an associate professor at Appalachian State University. He completed his Ph.D. at Arizona State University. Dr Spaulding has published in Health Affairs, Inquiry, the Journal of Nursing Administration, Decision Support Systems, and Electronic Commerce Research and Applications. His research focuses on the effects of hospital information technology on cost and quality outcomes. He has also conducted research on the motivations of registered nurses to stay in their jobs, electronic auctions, and virtual communities. Dr. Spaulding specializes in merging and working with large data sets. He teaches data analytics and informatics in the healthcare environments. He also holds degrees in information systems from Brigham Young University.
